Why kids and moms to be?
The most common reaction I get when I tell people I focus on children and moms to be is surprise. I am often asked why do kids need to be adjusted and maybe even more importantly is it even safe to adjust a kid? I didn't know it at the time I made this decision to focus my practice on these two subsets of the family but it has nonetheless become a driving factor into my passion and that is to educate as many people as I can about how beneficial chiropractic can be for children and moms to be.
I started this journey into kids and moms to be when my own wife, Marissa, became pregnant during chiropractic school. Outside of the sheer excitement of the situation I became increasingly interested how I could help her along her pregnancy. Needless to say, many things changed and especially toward the end I saw first hand how being pregnant is not easy to say the least. Another funny thing happened during this time. I was an intern at the Parker clinic and since my wife was pregnant I was assigned the pregnant patients that came in, since obviously I was the "expert". After the first visit with someone else's wife and unborn child, in which I was sweating profusely from nervousness, I became even more enthralled in how I could help these women during their incredibly journey!
Once my son, Bryce, was born, taking care of kids was the next logical step. Seeing how he and other children respond to chiropractic care is truly an amazing experience. Once cannot help but be love what they do when what they do is play with children. Nothing is better than having a child run into the office shouting your name excited to see you and hearing from their parent that they demanded to come in for an adjustment. They get it without and pre-conceived notions or established ideas. The goal is to have the practice filled with children at all times, creating a large ball of energy only kiddos can conjure up.
There are many different types of chiropractic and I know I had looked into at least two or three other specialties before realizing that there is nothing better than helping to keep kids healthy and helping moms to be to have an optimal pregnancy. It's a journey that I am still on its infancy stages but a journey that I am passionate about and one I look forward to growing with.
